KHUMBU

Whispers of an ancient glacier

DIRECTOR / THEO LIVET

PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION / ZERO CARBON

In a poetic and intimate monologue, an ancient glacier speaks to tell its story. Born over 500,000 years ago in the heart of the Himalayas, nourished by the world's highest mountain, Sagarmatha, it bears witness to the life it saw emerge, the rivers it gave birth to, and the human beings who lived alongside it, admired it, and sometimes feared it. But today, its voice is tinged with alarm: under the effects of global warming, it is melting, crumbling, and carrying away with it the memories of a world in peril. Through this symbolic voice of nature, the film evokes the fragile beauty of glaciers, their vital role in the planet's balance, and their slow disappearance. An ancestral cry, addressed to humanity, urging it to become aware—before it is too late.
